Angels' Patrick Sandoval (COVID-19) could be ready for Opening Day
Los Angeles Angels pitcher Patrick Sandoval could be ready for the start of the season, according to manager Joe Maddon.
Sandoval tested positive for COVID-19 in late June and was reportedly symptomatic, describing it as "unlike anything he'd ever really felt before". Due to this, Sandoval arrived late to summer camp and was not expected to be ready for Opening Day. It appears he has made steady progress in his preparation and now has a chance to be available in some capacity.
numberFire's models expect Sandoval to record a 4.42 ERA and 1.43 WHIP with 24 strikeouts and 11 walks over 24 1/3 innings this season.
