Jorge Alfaro (undisclosed) lands on Marlins IL before opener
The Miami Marlins placed catcher Jorge Alfaro (undisclosed) on the 10-day injured list.
The move comes just hours before the Marlins are scheduled to begin the season. Francisco Cervelli is now the Marlins' No. 1 catcher. He's batting eighth on Opening Day against right-hander Aaron Nola and the Philadelphia Phillies. The Marlins added infielder Sean Rodriguez in a corresponding roster move.
Per FanDuel Sportsbook, the Marlins are +174 underdogs versus the Phillies on Opening Day.
