Nationals' Stephen Strasburg (hand) scratched from Saturday start against Yankees
Washington Nationals pitcher Stephen Strasburg has been scratched from his start on Saturday night against the New York Yankees because of a hand injury.
Strasburg is reportedly dealing with a nerve issue in his right hand that will force him to miss his start on Saturday. Erick Fedde, who was projected to start Tuesday's game against Toronto, will start in his place against the Yankees tonight. Nationals' manager Dave Martinez mentioned that Strasburg's issue extends to his right thumb and that he received an injection. He added that he hopes this is a day-to-day situation.
Fedde pitched 78 innings for the Nationals last season, resulting in a 4.50 ERA, 41 strikeouts, 1.462 WHIP, 33 walks, and a 4 win-2 loss record.
