Kris Bryant (illness) back for Cubs on Monday
Chicago Cubs third baseman/left fielder Kris Bryant is starting in Monday's series opener against left-hander Danny Duffy and the Kansas City Royals.
What It Means:
Bryant will man left field and handle leadoff work after missing the past two games for gastrointestinal issues. He's gone just 3-for-25 (.120) with 10 strikeouts this season. David Bote is batting sixth after leading off on Sunday. Kyle Schwarber will be the Cubs' designated hitter out of the five-hole. Josh Phegley is not in the lineup.
