Yankees' Aroldis Chapman (COVID-19) still a ways from returning
New York Yankees relief pitcher Aroldis Chapman isn't particularly close to making a return to the big-league team.
"I don't expect it anytime soon," Boone said on Chapman's potential return from the alternate site to the active roster. It took the elite closer a long time to fully recover from COVID-19 and gain clearance to rejoin the club, though he still needs a few bullpen sessions to be fully ready to pitch for the league-leading Yankees. For now, Zack Britton to continue handling closer duties.
Our models currently project Chapman for a 2.90 ERA with a 1.20 WHIP, 32 strikeouts and 10 walks across 21.7 innings going forward this season.
