David Peterson (shoulder) scratched Tuesday for Mets, Corey Oswalt starting

New York Mets pitcher David Peterson has been scratched from Tuesday's start against the Miami Marlins due to left shoulder fatigue and placed on the 10-day injured list.

What It Means:

Corey Oswalt was recalled from the Mets alternate training site and will start Tuesday in place of Peterson on Tuesday. Peterson had to exit his last start with left shoulder soreness, but he had been cleared to take his next turn in the rotation. It's unclear how long the 24-year-old rookie left-hander is expected to be out. Oswalt has a 6.69 ERA over 75 1/3 innings in the majors.

Peterson owns a 2.91 ERA and 1.15 WHIP with 17 strikeouts and 8 walks in 21 2/3 innings this season.
