Archie Bradley

Reds rope in Archie Bradley from Diamondbacks in trade

The Cincinnati Reds acquired right-handed reliever Archie Bradley from the Arizona Diamondbacks for infielder/outfielder Josh VanMeter and outfield prospect Stuart Fairchild.

What It Means:

Bradley could operate in a setup role for the Reds or potentially steal away the closer job from Raisel Iglesias. His ERA has climbed up to 4.22 this season after Bradley posted a 3.52 ERA last year. Bradley is under team control through next season. Stefan Crichton appears to now be the favorite for ninth-inning duties in Arizona.

Bradley converted 6-of-7 saves for the Diamondbacks in 10 appearances this season. His 26.7 strikeout percentage is up from Bradley's career average (24.0). The Reds' bullpen has the fourth-worst ERA (5.48) in the majors this season.
