Kwang Hyun Kim starting Cardinals' postseason opener
St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Kwang Hyun Kim will start Game 1 of the Wild Card Round against the San Diego Padres on Wednesday, per manager Mike Shildt.
Jack Flaherty will start Game 2 and Adam Wainwright will start Game 3 if needed. Kim recorded a 1.62 ERA and 1.03 WHIP with 24 strikeouts and 12 walks over 39 innings (seven starts) during his first MLB regular season. His ERA was better than all 158 pitchers with at least 30 innings while his 16.1 strikeout percentage ranked 147th.
