Maddon: Angels plan for Shohei Ohtani to pitch on normal rotation turn
According to manager Joe Maddon, Los Angeles Angels designated hitter / pitcher Shohei Ohtani will pitch on five days rest in a six pitcher rotation.
What It Means:
Ohtani is expected to pitch on normal five days rest after mostly appearing on Sundays last season. Los Angeles' 26-year old dual-position talent has reportedly looked better on the mound, hitting 100 mph during a recent appearance in live batting practice.
As an offensive producer, our models currently project Ohtani for a .260 average with 22 home runs and 63 RBI in 450 total plate appearances.
