Jorge Mateo heading back to Padres' bench Monday
The San Diego Padres left Jorge Mateo out of their lineup for Monday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers.
What It Means:
Mateo filled in during yesterday's game, but is back on the bench for tonight's game against the Brewers. Wil Myers will start in right field and bat sixth, while Jurickson Profar moves to left field and Tommy Pham covers center field.
Mateo has made 23 plate appearances so far this season, improving on his 2020 season with a .211 batting average and a .664 OPS.
