Phillies add Odubel Herrera to active roster

The Philadelphia Phillies purchased the contract of outfielder Odubel Herrera from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

What It Means:

Herrera is back in the majors for the first time since serving an 85-game domestic violence suspension in 2019. He will start in center field on Monday and bat seventh against right-hander Adam Wainwright and the St. Louis Cardinals. Herrera could potentially win the Phillies' center field job moving forward. Mickey Moniak has been optioned to the Phillies' alternate training site in a corresponding roster move.

Per numberFire's MLB Heat Map, the Phillies have an implied total of 3.9 runs on Monday. Wainwright owns a 26.7 strikeout percentage and 6.7 walk percentage for the season, which both rank in the top-eight among Monday's 22 listed starters.
