Joey Votto joining Reds' bench Monday evening
Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto is not in the starting lineup for Monday night's series opener against left-hander Julio Urias and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Reds appear to be giving Votto a breather after he went hitless and struck out five times during the Reds' weekend series against the St. Louis Cardinals. He's hitting a career-low .217 and is slugging below .400 for the first time in his career. Alex Blandino will shift to first base on Monday and Kyle Farmer will make the start on third base and bat eighth. Jonathan India (head), who left Sunday's game after being hit in the helmet by a pitch, will start at second base and bat seventh.
numberFire's models expect Blandino to score 10.5 FanDuel points on Monday with a $2,200 salary on the 11-game slate.
