Yordan Alvarez out for Astros Wednesday due to 'health, safety reasons'
Houston Astros designated hitter Yordan Alvarez is out of the lineup Wednesday versus the Seattle Mariners due to health and safety reasons, according to Astros manager Dusty Baker.
The Astros didn't provide any other details. Michael Brantley will be the Astros' designated hitter on Wednesday versus right-hander Justin Dunn and the Seattle Mariners. Chas McCormick will make the start in left field and hit seventh. Kyle Tucker will handle cleanup duties.
Per numberFire's MLB Heat Map, the Astros have the third-highest implied total (4.9 runs) in all of the majors on Wednesday. Dunn owns the second-highest walk percentage (16.9) out of the 30 listed starters.
