Jed Lowrie at designated hitter for Athletics against Rays
Oakland Athletics second baseman Jed Lowrie will bat third as the designated hitter in Thursday afternoon's series finale against left-hander Shane McClanahan and the Tampa Bay Rays.

Lowrie will step back into the lineup at DH and bat a spot behind Ramon Laureano. McClanahan will be making his MLB debut on Thursday afternoon.
