San Diego's Manny Machado resting on Saturday
San Diego Padres infielder Manny Machado is not starting in Saturday's contest against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Machado will receive a breather with Tucupita Marcano at third base, Jake Cronenworth at second base, Austin Nola at first base, and Victor Caratini behind the plate.
According to Baseball Savant on 112 batted balls this season, Machado has produced a 10.7% barrel rate and a .257 expected average.
