Shohei Ohtani scratched from start on Thursday; Patrick Sandoval to pitch
Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher/designated hitter Shohei Ohtani has been scratched from Thursday's start against the Oakland Athletics.
It's unclear what exactly has happened - the team hasn't officially announced details - but Ohtani will not take the bump against the A's on Thursday. Patrick Sandoval will instead earn the start to begin the divisional series.
In 6 starts this year, Ohtani has a 1-0 record with a 2.37 ERA and 45 strikeouts across 30.1 innings.
