Fernando Tatis Jr. (oblique) out for Padres Wednesday afternoon
San Diego Padres shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. (oblique) is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday afternoon's series finale against right-hander Adbert Alzolay and the Chicago Cubs.
Tatis is considered day-to-day after leaving Tuesday night's game against the Cubs early because of right oblique tightness. Ha-Seong Kim will start at shortstop Wednesday in place of Tatis and hit sixth. Eric Hosmer will bat cleanup and Jurickson Profar will bat fifth.
numberFire’s models project Kim for 7.8 FanDuel points and he has a $2,200 salary on Wednesday. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Padres have the second-lowest implied total (3.6 runs) in the majors on Wednesday. Alzolay enters the contest with a 26.3 strikeout percentage and 5.2 walk percentage.
