Kris Bryant on Cubs' bench Wednesday
Chicago Cubs infielder/outfielder Kris Bryant is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday afternoon's series finale against right-hander Yu Darvish and the San Diego Padres.
Bryant appears to be getting the afternoon off. Rafael Ortega will replace Bryant in the outfield and join Joc Pederson and Jason Heyward. Patrick Wisdom has been bumped up to third in the order and Anthony Rizzo is on cleanup duties.
numberFire’s models project Ortega for 7.5 FanDuel points and he has a $2,000 salary on Wednesday. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Cubs have an implied total of 3.3 runs.
