Twins put Kyle Garlick (groin) on injured list

The Minnesota Twins put outfielder Kyle Garlick (groin) on the 10-day injured list with a sports hernia.

What It Means:

The injury may have contributed to Garlick going 0-for-5 and striking out three times on Tuesday. The Twins recalled Gilberto Celestino from Triple-A St. Paul in a corresponding roster move. Celestino will start in center field on Wednesday against right-hander Gerrit Cole and the New York Yankees. Alex Kirilloff will return to the outfield to join Celestino and hit sixth.

Garlick is hitting .232 with 5 homers, 8 doubles, 10 RBI, and 17 runs scored over 107 plate appearances this season.
