Detroit puts Derek Hill (shoulder) on injured list

The Detroit Tigers placed outfielder Derek Hill on the 10-day injured list with a right shoulder sprain.

What It Means:

Hill injured his shoulder on Wednesday when he collided with the outfield wall while making an impressive catch. The Tigers recalled Daz Cameron in a corresponding roster move. Cameron will play center field and bat sixth in Thursday afternoon's series finale against left-hander Justus Sheffield and the Seattle Mariners. Akil Baddoo should also see more playing time while Hill is out.

Per numberFire's MLB Heat Map, the Tigers' implied total (4.8 runs) is among the top-five totals in the majors on Thursday. Hill is averaging 8.6 FanDuel points per game with a .607 OPS over 14 plate appearances this season.
