Yermin Mercedes on White Sox's bench for Thursday matinee
Chicago White Sox designated hitter Yermin Mercedes is not in the starting lineup for Thursday afternoon's lineup against right-hander Jose Berrios and the Minnesota Twins.
Mercedes has now started just once in the past eight games. Jose Abreu will bat third as the White Sox's designated hitter while Yasmani Grandal starts on first base. Zack Collins will catch for Carlos Rodon and hit ninth.
