Mitch Moreland activated, starting for Athletics on Friday
Oakland Athletics infielder Mitch Moreland will start Friday in the team's game against the Cleveland Indians.
What It Means:
Moreland was placed on the COVID-19 injured list a couple weeks ago without any specified reason, but he's been cleared to return to the team. He'll get the nod at designated hitter, batting sixth against Indians starter eli Morgan. Frank Schwindel was designated for assignment to clear room on the roster.
In 175 plate appearances this season, Moreland has a .238 batting average with a .673 OPS, 6 home runs, 19 runs and 22 RBI.
