Javier Baez (lower body) sitting Monday for Cubs
The Chicago Cubs did not list Javier Baez (lower body) in their starting lineup.
Baez will sit Monday's contest out while Matt Duffy enters the lineup at third base and bats cleanup. David Bote will switch to second base, and Nico Hoerner will play shortstop. Baez is dealing with an undisclosed lower body injury, but it does not appear to be overly concerning.
Assuming Baez is able to return to the field soon, our models project him for 215 more plate appearances this season, with 10 home runs, 27 runs, 27 RBI, 4 stolen bases, and a .231 batting average.
