Kyle Farmer finding seat for Reds against Milwaukee

Cincinnati Reds catcher Kyle Farmer is not in the starting lineup for Thursday afternoon's series finale against left-hander Brett Anderson and the Milwaukee Brewers.

What It Means:

The Reds appear to be giving Farmer a routine breather in a day game after a night game. Jose Barrero is replacing Farmer at shortstop on Thursday and hitting eighth. Aristides Aquino is moving up three spots to hit fifth.

numberFire’s models project Barrero for 5.9 FanDuel points and he has a $2,000 salary on Thursday’s slate. Aquino (12.1; $2,300) is currently our best point-per-dollar available among active hitters. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Reds have an implied total of 4.2 runs. Anderson is registering a 14.6 strikeout percentage (bottom 3% of the league) and a 6.6 walk percentage this season, with a 5.73 xERA (bottom 9%) and a .359 xwOBA (bottom 9%).
