Phillies place Rhys Hoskins (groin) on 10-day IL
The Philadelpiha Phillies placed infielder Rhys Hoskins on the 10-day injured list with a left groin strain.
Hoskins returned from the IL for a groin injury on Sunday and he hit three home runs in three games since, including his 27th of the season on Wednesday. The 28-year-old apparently tweaked something in the process and is now back on the shelf. Brad Miller is replacing Hoskins on first base and hitting sixth in Thursday's series opener against right-hander Zac Gallen and the Arizona Diamondbacks.
numberFire’s models project Miller for 11.2 FanDuel points and he has a $2,300 salary on Thursday’s slate. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Phillies have an implied total of 4.6 runs. Gallen is registering a 27.4 strikeout percentage and a 10.0 walk percentage this season, with a 3.83 xERA and a .300 xwOBA.
