Robbie Grossman resting for Tigers' matinee Monday

Detroit Tigers outfielder Robbie Grossman is not in the starting lineup for Monday's matinee against right-hander Bailey Ober and the Minnesota Twins.

What It Means:

Grossman is out of the lineup for the first time since August 6 in what appears to be a routine breather. The almost 32-year-old is 9-for-44 (.205) with 11 strikeouts over the last two weeks. Akil Baddoo is rotating over to left field in place of Grossman on Monday afternoon. Derek Hill is returning to the lineup to play center field and hit ninth.

numberFire’s models project Baddoo for 7.2 FanDuel points and he has a $2,900 salary on Monday’s slate. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Tigers have an implied total of 4.6 runs. Through his first 68 2/3 innings in the majors, Ober is registering a 25.3 strikeout percentage and a 6.0 walk percentage, with a 4.47 xERA and a 3.22 xwOBA.
