Jed Lowrie joining Athletics' bench Tuesday
Oakland Athletics second baseman Jed Lowrie is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday's series opener against left-hander Tarik Skubal and the Detroit Tigers.
Lowrie started the last game at designated hitter for Oakland, but he's on the bench for Tuesday's opener. Sean Murphy is handling DH duty and batting eighth. Josh Harrison is making another start at second base.
numberFire’s models project Murphy for 11.6 FanDuel points and he has a $2,300 salary on Tuesday’s slate, currently making him our top point-per-dollar value among active hitters. Per the numberFire MLB Heat Map, the Athletics have an implied total of 4.6 runs. Skubal is registering a 26.5 strikeout percentage and a 7.7 walk percentage this season, with a 5.36 xERA and a .349 xwOBA.
