Jarren Duran joining Red Sox's bench Thursday

Boston Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran is not in the starting lineup for Thursday's series finale against left-hander Shane McClanahan and the Tampa Bay Rays.

What It Means:

Duran hit a go-ahead single in the ninth inning in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Rays. Danny Santana is replacing Duran in center field and hitting seventh Thursday in his first start since being activated from the injured list.

numberFire’s models project Santana for 8.2 FanDuel points and he has a $2,000 salary on Thursday’s slate. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Red Sox have an implied total of 3.4 runs, the third-lowest total in the majors on Thursday. McClanahan is registering a 27.7 strikeout percentage and a 7.3 walk percentage this season, with a 4.59 xERA and a .326 xwOBA.
