George Springer (knee) out of Blue Jays' lineup Tuesday
Toronto Blue Jays outfielder George Springer (knee) is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against right-hander Gerrit Cole and the New York Yankees.
Springer left Monday's series opener with a bruised knee and he is considered day-to-day. Alejandro Kirk is taking over as Toronto's designated hitter and batting sixth. Corey Dickerson is moving into the leadoff role in place of Springer.
numberFire’s models project Kirk for 8.9 FanDuel points and he has a $2,100 salary on Tuesday’s slate. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Blue Jays have an implied total of 3.5 runs. Cole is registering a 35.4 strikeout percentage (top 3% of the league) and a 5.3 walk percentage (top 10%) this season, with a 2.77 xERA (top 7%) and a .256 xwOBA (top 7%).
