Luis Garcia grabbing seat for Washington Wednesday afternoon
Washington Nationals infielder Luis Garcia is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday afternoon's series finale against right-hander Trevor Rogers and the Miami Marlins.
The Nationals appear to be giving Garcia a routine breather. Jordy Mercer is replacing Garcia on second base and batting seventh in his first start since being activated from the injured list earlier this week.
numberFire’s models project Mercer for 8.1 FanDuel points and he has a $2,000 salary on Wednesday’s slate. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Nationals have an implied total of 4.3 runs. Rogers is registering a 28.2 strikeout percentage and an 8.8 walk percentage this season, with a 3.49 xERA and a .286 xwOBA.
