Breyvic Valera idle for Blue Jays in Tampa Bay
Toronto Blue Jays infielder Breyvic Valera is not in the starting lineup for Monday's series opener against rookie right-hander Shane Baz and the Tampa Bay Rays.
Valera is taking a seat after starting the last two games for Toronto. Jake Lamb is replacing Valera on the hot corner and hitting eighth.
numberFire’s models project Lamb for 8.5 FanDuel points and he has a $2,400 salary on Monday’s slate. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Blue Jays have an implied total of 4.2 runs. Baz recorded a 2.84 ERA with 49 strikes out in 32 2/3 innings (seven starts) in Double-A. The right-hander then spun a 1.76 ERA with 64 strikeouts, compared to 11 walks, over 46 innings (10 starts) at the Triple-A level.
