Jed Lowrie joining Athletics' bench Thursday afternoon
Oakland Athletics second baseman/designated hitter Jed Lowrie is not in the starting lineup for Thursday afternoon's series finale against left-hander Yusei Kikuchi and the Seattle Mariners.
Lowrie is out of the lineup for the third time in four games after he went 0-for-3 with a walk and 3 strikeouts on Wednesday. Yan Gomes is replacing Lowrie as the Athletics' DH while Sean Murphy starts at catcher again.
numberFire’s models project Gomes for 11.0 FanDuel points and he has a $2,800 salary on Thursday’s slate. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Athletics have an implied total of 4.3 runs. Kikuchi is registering a 24.6 strikeout percentage and an 8.9 walk percentage this season, with a 5.04 xERA and a .339 xwOBA.
