Tigers activate Blaine Hardy (shoulder) off disabled list

Detroit Tigers reliever Blaine Hardy has been activated from the 15-day disabled list.

What It Means:

After missing the first two weeks of the season with a shoulder impingement, Hardy will be available out of the Detroit bullpen for Tuesday night's series opener against the Kansas City Royals. The left-hander looked sharp on his minor league rehab assignment after a rough spring. He'll pitch in middle relief.

Hardy posted a 3.08 ERA across 61 1/3 innings pitched last season for Detroit, but his xFIP was exactly a run higher (4.08). His strikeout percentage of 20.8 was just about league average (20.4 percent). We project Hardy to record a 3.34 ERA with a 21.0 strikeout percentage across 43 innings pitched in 2016.
