Braves place Gordon Beckham (hamstring) on disabled list
The Atlanta Braves placed infielder Gordon Beckham on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 17, with a strained left hamstring.
Beckham suffered the injury on Saturday and will require an extended absence. The Braves have called up right-hander Ryan Weber to take his place on the active roster.
Beckham struggled to a .209/.275/.332 line last season in 237 plate appearances with the Chicago White Sox. He did hit six home runs, but his wOBA was just .267. Beckham was off to a 7-for-25 start (.280) this season before getting hurt. Our models currently project him to post a .269 wOBA with eight home runs in 2016.
