Miguel Castro dealing with shoulder soreness for Rockies

Colorado Rockies reliever Miguel Castro is battling shoulder inflammation.

What It Means:

Rockies manager Walt Weiss said the club will make a decision soon on a possible disabled list stint. Castro had a really good spring and owns a 1.50 ERA, 0.67 WHIP, and an 8/2 K/BB ratio over his first 6 innings this season out of the Colorado bullpen.

Castro pitched just 17 2/3 innings last season for the Toronto Blue Jays and the Rockies -- his first season in the majors -- and recorded a 4.72 xFIP with a 21.7 strikeout percentage (league average was 20.4 percent). His strikeout percentage so far this season is 36.4 and he's allowed just 2 hits in his 6 innings pitched.
