Dodgers' Miguel Vargas sitting Thursday afternoon

Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Miguel Vargas is not in the starting lineup for Thursday afternoon's series finale against right-hander Jakob Junis and the San Francisco Giants.

What It Means:

Vargas made his MLB debut on Wednesday and went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI, and a stolen base. He certainly played well enough, but the Dodgers are going to hold the youngster out of the lineup for the day game after a night game. James Outman will take over at designated hitter and bat ninth while Joey Gallo makes his Dodgers debut. Gallo will start in left field and hit sixth.
