Athletics release shortstop Elvis Andrus on Wednesday
The Oakland Athletics have released shortstop Elvis Andrus on Wednesday.
What It Means:
Andrus will become a free agent after the 33-year old played 252 games for the Athletics. Expect Nick Allen to log more playing time at the shortstop position going forward.
Per Baseball Savant on 292 batted balls this season, Andrus has recorded a 3.4% barrel rate and a .277 expected weighted on-base average.
