Leody Taveras sitting for Rangers Monday in Game 1
Texas Rangers outfielder Leody Taveras is not in the starting lineup against left-hander Trevor Rogers and the Miami Marlins in Game 1 of Monday's doubleheader.
Taveras will snag a seat for the early game after going 2-for-12 in the Rangers' weekend series against the Toronto Blue Jays. Bubba Thompson will move to center field while Adolis Garcia makes a start in right. Mark Mathias will replace Taveras in the lineup to work as the designated hitter and bat fifth.
Mathias has a $7,000 salary and numberFire’s models project him for 11.3 FanDuel points. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Rangers’ implied total (3.63) is fourth-lowest out of the 16 active teams today.
