Cody Anderson gives up two runs in relief, Indians fall to Houston

Cleveland Indians starting pitcher Cody Anderson (leg) allowed two runs in 3 1/3 innings of relief Wednesday as the Indians fell to the Houston Astros in extras.

What It Means:

Anderson exited his last start Saturday against the Kansas City Royals with cramping in his left leg and was simply asked to go as far as he could in Wednesday's marathon matinee at Minute Maid Park. That would prove to be the bottom of the 16th, when Marwin Gonzalez slugged a walkoff two-run homer against the 25-year-old right-hander.

In six starts this season, Anderson holds an 0-3 record and 7.31 ERA in 28 1/3 innings. Our models currently project him to finish the year with a 5.15 ERA and 13.3 strikeout percentage.
