Tyler Olson recalled from Triple-A by Yankees
The New York Yankees recalled pitcher Tyler Olson from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Olson owns a 5.63 ERA in 16 career innings at the major league level. He will operate in mid-relief. Ben Gamel was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to make room for Olson.
Olson's career xFIP is 6.53, and his strikeout percentage (10.3) is lower than his walk percentage (15.4). Despite owning a solid frame -- he's 6-foot-3, 195 lbs -- the average velocity on his fastball in the majors has been just 88.2 miles per hour.
