Angels place Geovany Soto (meniscus) on 15-day disabled list
Los Angeles Angels catcher Geovany Soto was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a torn right meniscus.
Soto will undergo surgery and is expected to miss four to six weeks in rehab, putting him in line for a late June return if there are no setbacks. This isn't a fantasy killer, though, as Carlos Perez will continue to see the bulk of at-bats moving forward.
Prior to his injury concern, the 33-year-old backstop was hitting a respectable .283/.338/.483 with three homers and seven RBI's over 67 plate appearances.
