Athletics' Josh Reddick (thumb) placed on disabled list
The Oakland Athletics placed outfielder Josh Reddick on the 15-day disabled list with a fractured left thumb.
Reddick injured the thumb Thursday when he caught it on Starlin Castro's cleat while stealing a base. He's expected to be on the shelf for four-to-six weeks. Billy Burns, Coco Crisp, and Khris Davis should hold down the outfield spots for the Athletics while Reddick is out.
Reddick has posted a .366 wOBA in 165 plate appearances this season. He's hitting .322/.394/.466 with five home runs, 18 RBI's and four steals.
