Indians recall Shawn Armstrong from Triple-A
The Cleveland Indians recalled pitcher Shawn Armstrong from Triple-A Columbus.
What It Means:
Armstrong, 25, owns a 2.50 ERA, 30 strikeouts and 17 walks over 18 innings this season in Triple-A. He'll give the Indians a fresh arm in their bullpen.
Armstrong made his big league debut last season, throwing eight innings, posting a 2.43 xFIP, and an impressive 36.7 strikeout percentage (K%). It's a tiny sample size in the majors, but his minor league strikeout numbers are excellent as well -- 38.1 K% in 49 2/3 innings in 2015 and a 35.3 K% this season.
