Miguel Cabrera moving to Tigers bench Wednesday

Detroit Tigers designated hitter Miguel Cabrera is not in the lineup for Wednesday afternoon's series finale against right-hander Dane Dunning and the Texas Rangers.

What It Means:

Cabrera will head back to the bench after he went 3-for-3 with a double, 2 RBI, and a run scored in Tuesday's loss. Tyler Nevin will take over at DH on Wednesday afternoon and Zach McKinstry will enter the lineup to play right field and bat leadoff. Zack Short will drop to the seven-hole in a fifth straight start. Andy Ibanez is absent from the lineup for a second consecutive game.

numberFire’s models project Nevin ($2,200) for 6.4 FanDuel points on Wednesday. McKinstry ($2,800) is projected for 9.4 FanDuel points. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Tigers' implied total is 4.08 and the game total is 9.0. Dunning is hiding a 3.99 xERA behind a 1.67 ERA this season, with a 15.4% strikeout rate and 5.9% walk rate. His punchout rate is fourth-lowest among Wednesday's listed starters.
