Clay Buchholz

Clay Buchholz will start on Tuesday for Red Sox

Boston Red Sox manager John Farrell announced Saturday that starting pitcher Clay Buchholz has rejoined the club's starting rotation and will pitch on Tuesday against the Chicago White Sox.

What It Means:

It was originally reported that Buchholz would start on Wednesday, but instead the team is moving Eduardo Rodriguez back to start Buchholz on Tuesday. Buchholz was awful in 10 starts before being banished to bullpen duty, so maybe the Red Sox' young hurler had time to figure things out in the pen. Roenis Elias was optioned back to Triple-A to make room for him to rejoin the rotation.

In 66 innings pitched both starting and out of the bullpen, Buchholz owns a 5.86 ERA and a WHIP of 1.44. Our models project him to post a 4.40 ERA and a 1.34 WHIP over 96 innings remaining this season.
