Bartolo Colon struck on wrist during first inning of Mets' game

New York Mets pitcher Bartolo Colon was lifted in the first inning of his start Tuesday against the Kansas City Royals after taking a Whit Merrifield line drive off his right wrist.

What It Means:

Colon appeared to be in a pretty decent amount of pain as he exited from the mound. Hansel Robles came in as his replacement in the top of the first with one out after Merrifield's comebacker led off the contest.

Colon is 6-3 this season, twirling a 3.01 ERA and 1.19 WHIP with a 17.07 strikeout percentage across 80 2/3 innings (14 starts). His 2.02 nERD currently ranks 79th in the majors.
