New York Yankees catcher Austin Wells is not in the lineup for Tuesday's series opener against left-hander Yusei Kikuchi and the Toronto Blue Jays.
The left-handed hitting Wells will sit against a lefty. Kyle Higashioka will catch for Clarke Schmidt and hit eighth on Tuesday.
