Rangers place Prince Fielder on disabled list
The Texas Rangers placed designated hitter Prince Fielder on the 15-day disabled list with a herniation in his neck.
Fielder told manager Jeff Banister on Monday that he was having symptoms similar to the ones he felt before undergoing neck fusion surgery in 2014, so he has been shut down immediately. He will have a checkup Friday with the doctor who performed the surgery two years ago, so another update should be ready by the end of the week.
Fielder has been having a very poor season prior to going down, posting a .212/.292/.334 slash line. He only has a .279 wOBA, to go along with eight homers and 44 RBI's across 370 plate appearances.
