Blue Jays' Russell Martin (knee) sitting out on Friday
Toronto Blue Jays catcher Russell Martin (knee) is not in the starting lineup Friday against the Boston Red Sox.
A left knee injury forced Martin to leave Wednesday's contest early, and Thursday's off day apparently wasn't enough rest to get him ready for Friday's game. He can be considered day-to-day. Dioner Navarro -- and his .263 wOBA -- will start behind the plate.
Martin is slashing .244/.340/.416 with 17 home runs and a .329 wOBA in 448 plate appearances this season. We project him to hit three more taters and post a .790 OPS over the rest of the year.
