Mark Teixeira hits grand slam as Yankees win sixth straight
New York Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira crushed a grand slam on Friday, powering the Yankees to a 7-5 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays.
After selling off at the trade deadline, the Yankees have started making moves in the AL wild card standings, as they are now only one game out of the second wild card spot. Teixeira was 2-for-3 on the night and despite the poor season, the Yankees could use his bat coming alive in a potential push to make the playoffs.
Teixeira has a disappointing .202/.290/.347 slash line to go with 12 homers and 37 RBI's on the year. His .282 wOBA is easily a career low in seasons where he has at least 300 plate appearances.
